The Assurant Internship Program is a 12-week immersive experience where interns do not sit on the sidelines. You will gain real-world experience by tackling business challenges and helping drive meaningful outcomes. The program combines hands-on work with learning and development opportunities, mentorship, networking and engagement opportunities, and resources designed to support your professional growth.
As a Product Analyst Intern, you will support efforts to shape and improve voluntary homeowners and condominium insurance products. Working alongside experienced team members, you will gain exposure to the intersection of data, product strategy, and execution. You will help analyze product performance, identify trends and opportunities, and turn findings into clear insights, documentation, and recommendations.
This is a great opportunity for a curious and motivated student who enjoys working with data, asking thoughtful questions, and learning how products perform. Our team will teach you about the products and insurance industry. Successful interns will bring analytical ability, initiative, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in learning and contributing.
What You Will Do
- Assist with analyzing product performance, profitability, customer needs, and market trends to identify potential risks and opportunities.
- Help turn data into clear reports, visualizations, and insights for team members and business partners.
- Conduct competitive and market research to support product decisions.
- Support the development of business requirements, user stories, workflows, and product documentation.
- Gain exposure to product changes throughout the development lifecycle, including planning, quality assurance, regulatory filing, implementation, and post-launch analysis.
- Collaborate with teams such as Product Management, Actuarial, Underwriting, Sales, and Technology.
- Help identify opportunities to improve products, reporting, and team processes.
- Participate in team meetings, ask questions, share ideas, and contribute to assigned projects.
What You Will Bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Risk/Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Economics, or a related field. Expected graduation between December 2027 – June 2029
- Interest in product analysis, business analysis, data analysis, market research, insurance, or product development.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
- A willingness to learn, ask questions, accept feedback, and collaborate with others.
- Previous professional experience is not required.
What Would Be Helpful to Have
- Experience working with data through coursework, academic projects, student organizations, or a previous internship.
- Familiarity with data visualization concepts or tools.
- Exposure to SQL, Power BI, or similar data and reporting tools.
- An interest in insurance products, customer behavior, or market trends.
