Assurant’s Commitment to Prioritizing Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing

Everyone at some point in their lifetime struggles with their own mental health or knows someone who is struggling with theirs. That's why when we talk about wellbeing, it's important to recognize the key role mental health plays in one's overall health.      

At Assurant, we continuously look for ways to holistically support our employees and their families in all aspects of their wellbeing, including their mental health. May, which is Mental Health Awareness month, is the perfect time to highlight the array of company-sponsored tools and resources that we offer globally in support of our employees' mental wellbeing, including: 

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - encompasses mental health, financial, and legal counseling services for employees and their families  
  • Virgin Pulse - a customizable, confidential platform to address a spectrum of employee wellbeing needs
  • Headspace at Work - a mindfulness app for managing stress and finding balance  
  • Paid holidays and flexible work options (varies by region/location)
  • Family-friendly support benefits - paid parental leave, fertility benefits, adoption services and more (varies by region/location)

This month we are holding 10 events available to all employees focused on the theme of mental health. Events are led by various mental health experts and while each event approaches the subject in a somewhat different way, they share a common goal - to help our employees better manage any mental health challenges they may be facing.
